Shomaj Unnayan Foundation (SDF). We are dedicated to transforming lives and building stronger communities across the southwest region of Bangladesh. Since our establishment in 2007, we have been working hand in hand with vulnerable populations to create sustainable pathways for education, health, economic development, and social empowerment. Supported by government agencies, international donors, and our own resources, SDF strives to foster inclusive growth that uplifts marginalized groups and creates lasting positive change. About Us Include foundation’s mission, vision, and history: Mission: Empowering marginalized communities in Satkhira through sustainable initiatives focused on health, education, livelihood, and social welfare. Vision: A just and equitable society where every individual has the opportunity to live a dignified and prosperous life. Our Story: Established in 2007 and registered under the Department of Social Welfare (Registration No: Sat–849/07, November 21, 2007) and the Youth Development Department (No: JuAu/Sat/217, November 5, 2011), SDF has consistently pursued its goal of inclusive development in the southwest region of Bangladesh.
Our Focus Areas:
At Shomaj Unnayan Foundation, we design and implement programs that address critical needs in our communities. Our key focus areas include:
1. Education & Youth Empowerment
We promote literacy and lifelong learning by providing quality education support and vocational training. Our youth leadership initiatives encourage young people to become active agents of positive change in their communities.
2. Health & Nutrition
We organize community health camps and awareness programs focusing on maternal and child health, disease prevention, and nutrition education to improve the overall health status of vulnerable populations.
3. Livelihood & Economic Development
Through skills development, micro-enterprise support, and income-generating activities, we empower individuals and families to achieve financial independence and improve their quality of life.
4. Community Development & Social Inclusion
We build community resilience by promoting social inclusion, conducting disaster preparedness training, and encouraging participatory decision-making to ensure all voices are heard and valued.

Head Office: Karim Super Market (1st Floor), Village Nalta, Post – Nalta Mubarak Nagar, Upazila – Kaliganj, District – Satkhira, Bangladesh.
We primarily operate across Upazila Kaliganj and surrounding areas within Satkhira District.
